Pedal Sounds in the Narrow Streets of History: Pedalia Fest Old Town Begins
Antalya’s living history, Kaleiçi, will bring together cycling enthusiasts on September 27–28 with Pedalia Fest Old Town. Contributing to Antalya’s vision of becoming the “capital of cycling,” the festival will enliven the ancient city for two days with bike races, public rides, concerts, free games, and pasta parties.

With labyrinth-like narrow streets that always spark visitors’ sense of discovery, and routes where traces of civilizations dating back to the 2nd century BC can be followed, Antalya’s living ancient city Kaleiçi is preparing for one of its most unique events. Supported by Antalya Muratpaşa Municipality and many other institutions and organizations, Pedalia Fest Oldtown will take place this weekend.

The festival program includes bike races, a public ride, free games, a pasta party, and acrobatic mountain bike shows. On the music stage, Vo Sahne, Zhao, and DJ Mert Hakan will perform.

At the press conference held in Prof. Dr. Erdal İnönü City Park, Muratpaşa Mayor Ümit Uysal emphasized that Kaleiçi is one of the world’s largest preserved cultural heritage areas. Mayor Uysal said: “Both with its historical richness and preservation, it is far ahead of its counterparts. Using the wide-reaching power of sports to promote this area is very valuable. We provide every support to ensure the continuity of events like Pedalia.”

Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATSO) President Yusuf Hacısüleyman highlighted Antalya’s potential in sports tourism, saying: “Pedalia is an important organization for Antalya to claim its rightful share in sports tourism. We are pleased to support this event.”

Pedalia’s Corporate Communications Director Okan Özkırmızı underlined the global importance of cycling, stating: “With every event, we see growing interest in cycling. With this race through Kaleiçi’s historic streets, we aim to draw the attention of both our country and the world to Antalya.”

Also attending the festival’s press conference were Antalyaspor President Rıza Perçin, Fraport TAV Antalya Airport General Manager Deniz Varol, and representatives of the Antalya Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports.

As part of the festival, a “Awareness Ride” will be held at 13:30 on Sunday, September 28, to draw attention to cyclists in traffic. The event will start in front of Karaalioğlu Park, following a safety training session by the Provincial Representative of the Cycling Federation, Ogün Çavuş, and will conclude at the festival area with a pasta offering. Participants will be asked to wear blue clothing.
