The visit was organized under the coordination of the Akdeniz University Social Policy and Migration Studies Application and Research Center (ASPAG) and in collaboration with the Muratpaşa Municipality Foreigners' Council. During the tour, students had the opportunity to examine the contributions of various communities living in Muratpaşa to the city's cultural fabric.
The first stop of the program was the Taras Shevchenko Ukraine Friendship Park, where the presence of the Ukrainian community in Antalya, the creation process of the park, and symbols of Ukrainian culture were discussed. This was followed by a visit to the Shirazi Turkish–Iranian Friendship Park, where information was shared regarding the historical background of Iranian–Turkish friendship and the artistic aspects of Shirazi culture.
The third stop was the Leo Tolstoy Russia–Turkey Friendship Park. Here, the role of the Russian community in urban life was evaluated within the framework of Tolstoy’s universal values, emphasizing themes of peace, conscience, and humanity. The final stop of the visit was the Chinghiz Aitmatov Park, where discussions focused on Kyrgyz literature, the concept of the "family of humanity" in Kyrgyz culture, and Aitmatov’s philosophy.
Emphasizing the importance of cultural diversity, friendship, and tolerance, this excursion allowed students to experience intercultural interaction firsthand in the field. The event once again highlighted the impact of migration on Antalya’s multicultural structure and its vital importance for peaceful coexistence.
